The BMW i8 is the embodiment of a future oriented sports car that incorporates the latest revolutionary technology.

The rear axle of the hybrid is powered by a 3-cylinder engine, which, although it only has a capacity of 1.5 liters, produces a power of 170 kW (231 HP) and a torque of 320 Nm with the help of two turbochargers.

The front axle is supplied with energy from an electric motor, which delivers 96 kW (131 hp).

The interaction between the two engines is optimally coordinated thanks to an intelligent energy management system.

The result: Performance for a real sports car and this with a fuel consumption and gas emissions of a small car. The I8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds and can reach a BMW's top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
